The real problem is not why some pious, humble, believing people suffer, but why some do not. [C. S. Lewis] Whoever loves becomes humble. Those who love have, so to speak, pawned a part of their narcissism. [Freud] Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else [Galatians 6:4]
