The NSA and PRISM ... what an unsurprising revelation that has been! So the USA is intercepting the Internet. Our communications are not private. Your and my nefarious actions are on record somewhere. And what's our response? a) So who cares, I don't. b) Horror ... impeach! c) It's a necessary evil* d) Oh no, now they know about ... And probably many more variations besides. But how is a Christian supposed to read this? Well, aside from the fact that this probably happens in most countries, what is more amazing are those people who are shocked, threatened and fearful. "My God, the government knows my secrets" seems to be the response, with blith self-unawareness of what they've just said. You fear the limited-power NSA because they might know something you're ashamed of? How about contemplating the fact that the omnipotent God does know everything! I wonder if the fear of the NSA is greater because we fear being shamed in front of our peers. How I wish that we would have even just a fraction of that feeling about standing fully exposed in every intimate detail of our lives before a holy God. * "Necessary evil" -- how can anyone ever say that and think they are intelligent!

Why?
Probably the best therapy is to express yourself. Why do you think psychiatrists make you lie on the couch and talk, while all they do is murmur "hmmm", "uhuh", or "go on"? Archives
